PURPOSE:To prevent the foreign odors due to vaporized gas from being produced by a method wherein a temperature thermostat, which detects the temperature of a wick frame and opens an electrical circuit when the detected temperature shows a temperature below a predetermined one and a suction fan motor is put into actuation when a switch, which is closed together with fire extinguishing action, is closed so as to exhaust the air in a fuel tank outside the tank in order to suck into the tank the gas vaporized at the fire extinction. CONSTITUTION:When the temperature of a wick frame 23 reaches 120 deg.C after the maintained combustion, a temperature thermostat 38 is open. When a knob 9 is turned counterclockwise for fire extinguishing, an actuating part 40 closes a switch 42 and consequently a suction fan 28 is also rotated so as to suck the air in the wick frame 23 and a fuel tank 10 in order to lead it through a suction pipe 29, a tube 32 and an exhaust passage 35 from an efflux port 36 or an oil feeding port 15 into a receiving chamber 19 provided at the exterior of the tank 10. Accordingly, because the pressure in the wick frame 23 and in the interior of the tank 10 become negative, the vaporized gas left between a small tube 21 and a medium tube 22 and the gas vaporized from the upper end of the lowered wick 13 are sucked in the wick frame 23 and the tank 10 while being cooled and liquefied.
