PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound suitable for cosmetic, etc. at low cost, by reacting a specific amino acid compound with a specific alcohol in the presence of a protease. CONSTITUTION:0.1-10mM N-protecting-amino acid compound containing tyro sine residue as a carboxyl end group and 0.1-10mM 4-16C alcohol in a molar ratio of 1:50-500 ar dissolved in chloroform, etc., to give a solution, which is blended with a given amount of a solution obtained by dissolving 0.1-5mM protease (e.g., alpha-chymotrypsin) in 1-7wt%mM solution, and the solution is reacted at 6-9pH at 10-45 deg.C are 10-20hr while stirring to give an N- protecting-L-amino acid compound alkyl ester. Then, this compound is hydrogen ated to remove the protecting group and an L-amino acid compound alkyl ester is obtained.
