PURPOSE:To obtain a fine picture of less noise by providing laminated plural magnetic heads via a displacing means on the circumference of a drum and displacing and switching the head to be used by a reproduction system. CONSTITUTION:The plural number of magnetic heads are stacked on the diplacing means. In this embodiment, two heads B1 and A2 are stacked being interpositioned by a spacer 4. The following is an explanation of the case when a video tape MT is halting at a B track, and the picture recorded in next A track is reproduced as a still picture. By depressing a still picture selection button, a still picture selection signal (signal of high level during a still picture reproduction mode is selected) is supplied to a delay circuit 7 and an one shot multi 8. Also by depressing the still picture selection button, a mode switching signal is generated and a mode change-over switch 17 is switched so that the magnetic head A2 is connected to a backward circuit.
