MANUFACTURE OF SEALED LEAD-ACID BATTERY

PURPOSE:To increase reliability and reduce cost by facing the cutting section of a pole to the cutting section of a current collector of a plate, and connecting them by soldering with ultrasonic waves. CONSTITUTION:Solder 8 is applied to the cutting section of a current collector 6 of a plate 5 by a dipping process. The cutting section of a sheet-like lead or lead alloy pole 9 coated with resin except for the cutting section is faced to the cutting section of the current collector 6 and they are soldered with a soldering iron having an output of 5-10W by applying 30-40kHz ultrasonic waves. Resin coating is continuously performed at high speed with simple equipment and soldering can be conducted with ultrasonic waves. Therefore, reliablity is increased and cost is decreased.
