PURPOSE:To solve problems of a thermal resistance and an optical transmission loss by using a core layer consisting of a polycarbonate, a sheath layer consisting of a fluorine contg. polymer and a protective layer consisting of a polycarbonate having >=125 deg.C heat deformation temp. as a fundamental constituting unit. CONSTITUTION:The preferable polycarbonate constituting the core 1 is a compd. shown by formula II. The fluorine contg. polymer constituting the sheath layer 2 comprises the polymer obtd. by polymerizing an ester composed of a methacrylic acid and a fluorinated alcohol, and contains the repeating units shown by formula I, and contains 1-3C alkyl group and 1-3C fluorinated alkyl group of R. The preferable polycarbonate constituting the protective layer 3 is necessary to have >=125 deg.C heat deformation temp. The fiber is most preferably manufactured according to the composite spinning method in which each base materials of the core 1, the clad 2 and the protective layer 3 are compounded in the melt state by a specific nozzle, and then are extruded. |
