A wast heat boiler including a bank of parallel-connected return-flow tubes (3) with horizontal limbs in an upward gas flow path has apertured-plate spacing and supporting means for the tubes which comprise at each of two or more localities along the lengths of the tube horizontal limbs a plurality of apertured plate strips (33) in a row which extend vertically between common upper and common lower securing members (32, 43) and each of which apertured plate strips serves to support the horizontal limbs of a single tube only or at most of a few tubes only. If the boiler has a plurality of tube banks one above another, the upper-strip-securing means (32') of a bank may be attached to the lower strip-securing means (43) of a bank above it. |
