FORSTERITE SOLID LASER HOST

摘要

PURPOSE:To increase the range of variable wavelengths of a solid laser host, by doping a specific material in forsterite. CONSTITUTION:A forsterite solid laser host containing trivalent chromium as light-emitting ions has a selectivity with respect to wavelengths of about 850-950nm. Such forsterite solid laser host preferably contains valent chromium of 0.005-3.0% by weight and more preferably of 0.05-1.0% by weight in its crystals. The laser host containing chromium of less than 0.005% can not produce sufficient fluorescence, while the laser host containing chromium of more than 3.0% inhibits uniform growth of crystals.
