PURPOSE:To determine an accurate exposure from aspects of the density of a reproduced image and the color balance by controlling the printing color balance of the reproduced image with an averaged light measured value and controlling the printing density of the reproduced image with a divided light measured value. CONSTITUTION:Photometry is performed by an image sensor 10 with a film absent, and the measured value is stored in a memory 33. A negative film 2 to be printed is subjected to photometry by the image sensor 10 and an optical sensor 20, and the reference measured value stored in the memory 33 is subtracted from the measured value of the image sensor 10, and color balance components are operated in accordance with the measured value of the optical sensor 20. The measured value of the image sensor 10 is inputted to an image analyzing part 45 to obtain a characteristic value obtained by picture division. A divided light measuring operation density is obtained by an exposure operating part 46. The exposure is obtained in accordance with this value and the measured value of the optical sensor 20. Thus, printing is performed with the determined exposure.
