PURPOSE:To obtain the titled dispersion which is excellent in dispersion stability and is lowly viscous even at high concentrations, by polymerizing a vinyl monomer in an organic liquid in the presence of a specific polymeric oxide and block-copolymerizing another vinyl monomer with the obtained polymer. CONSTITUTION:A peroxy bond-containing polymer solution is obtained by polymerizing 100pts.wt. vinyl monomer such as lauryl methacrylate at 50-90 deg.C for 2-10hr in an organic liquid, such as ethylbenzene, in an amount accounting for 70-30wt% of the obtained dispersion in the presence of 0.1-20pts.wt. catalyst comprising at least one diacyl-type polymeric peroxide of formula I (wherein X is a group of formula II, III, IV or V, Y is H, OH, a 1-19C linear or branched acyloxy or benzoyloxy and n is 2-40). To this polymer solution, a vinyl monomer different from the above (e.g., methyl methacrylate) is added, and the mixture is block-copolymerized at 50-100 deg.C for 2-10hr to obtain the titled dispersion in which the block copolymer particles of a fine particle diameter are dispersed in the organic liquid.
