Deposition of zinc aluminium coating on steel - from molten metal bath, using a prior flash electrolytic zinc plating

Continuous method for depositing a coating of Zn-Al on a ferrous product comprising pickling and rinsing the product and immersing it in a bath of molten zinc-aluminium is claimed in which after rinsing the product is plunged into an aq. soln. contg. a cpd. of at least one metal and a thin film of the metal is electrolytically deposited on the surface of the product before rinsing and immersing the Zn-Al bath.
