PURPOSE:To obtain an expandable cracking agent which is easy to produce, excellent in handleability and workability and exhibits a great expansion cracking power, by granulating a sintered material used for production of a powdered expandable cracking agent into particles having a specific particle diameter distribution. CONSTITUTION:A crushing agent prepared by granulating a sintered material used for production of a powdered expandable cracking agent into particles having the following particle diameter distribution: 0.6mm or less, 5-20wt%; 1.2mm or less, 5-35wt%; 2.5mm or less, 10-50wt%; and 5.0mm or less, 10wt%. The particle diameter distribution can be adjusted by simply granulating the sintered material after adjustment of the roll intervals of a roll crusher or the jaw intervals of a jaw crusher. The particle diameter can also be adjusted by incorporating sieved particles after granulation. The expandable cracking agent can be used in such a manner that a hole is charged with a mixture obtained by kneading the expandable cracking agent with water or water is injected into a hole charged with the expandable cracking agent.
