PURPOSE:To improve the resistance to wear and corrosion of the title magnetic head and to reduce the contour effect by implanting ions in the sliding-contact surface of a magnetic core with a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Ions are implanted in the sliding-contact surface 1a of a mag netic core 1 with a magnetic recording medium in the depth as shown by satin finish. One or plural kinds of ions among the ions of molybdenum, titanium, platinum, zirzonium, tantalum, gold, chromium, etc., is used as the ions. Besides, the depth of the implanted ions is increased in the sliding-contact surface 1a as the distance from a magnetic gap 4 is increased. The resistance to wear and corrosion at the sliding-contact surface 1a part is improved by the property of the metal of the ions implanted and mixed in the magnetic material of the magnetic core 1. |
