PURPOSE:To simplify the work for providing silver while to reduce usage of silver by applying silver oxide onto the glass stem of electrode, when providing silver near to the electrode, then heating silver oxide to reduce into metal silver. CONSTITUTION:100wt% of silver oxide powder having average grain size of 0.5mu is mixed with 10wt% of glycerol, for example, to produce silver oxide paste 44 which is applies by approximately 0.15cm<2> onto the surface of the glass stem 34 of electrode 3. Then a pair of said electrodes applied with silver oxide 44 are inserted into predetermined position of ceramic endboard 5 applied with glass frit 6 mainly composed of borate. Then U-shaped inner tube 2 is mounted onto the endboard 5 while containing the electrode 3 and an evacuation glass capillary 7 is inserted thereafter an outer tube 1 is mounted. Under this state, it is heated in a furnace to perform air-tight securing through glass frit 6 while simultaneously perform reduction of silver oxide powder 4 applied onto the glass stem 34 of electrode 3 into metal silver 4.
