PURPOSE:To engage a magnetic disk with a floppy disk in a constantly fixed position relation by adjusting an approaching position of an opening and closing arm with respect to a carriage by a support plate. CONSTITUTION:A support plate 31 positioned between an opening and closing arm 20 and a carriage 11 is pivoted to the carriage 11 by a shaft 30. The shaft 30 is disposed nearer to a magnetic head 13 than an attaching section 15 and the support plate 31 has its support surface 31a of an upper surface capable of abutting against a rear surface of the opening and closing arm 20. To the carriage 11, an adjusting screw 32 pressing the support plate 31 from an end section of an opposite side of the magnetic head 13 is threaded. When the threaded amount of the adjusting screw is adjusted, an inclined angle of the support plate is changed. Since the sport surface 31a of the support plate 31 abuts against the rear surface of the opening and closing arm 20, when the inclined angle of the support plate 31 is adjusted, the nearest position of the opening and closing arm 20 to the carriage 11 is adjusted.
