PURPOSE:To prevent a release agent from being accumulated between a peeling claw and the surface of a fixing roll by providing a shape memory alloy which allows a force in the direction opposite to the energizing direction of an energizing means to act upon the peeling claw at a low temperature or high temperature. CONSTITUTION:If the surface of the fixing roll is heated to the temperature, at which a developer can be fused, at the copying operation time, a peeling claw 2 is turned around a fixed shaft 4 by a shape memorizable alloy 1 and its front end is brought into contact with the surface of the fixing roll 6. When the temperature near the fixing roll falls at the copying operation end time, the shape memory alloy 1 is contracted, and the peeling claw 2 is separated from the surface of the fixing roll by the energizing force of a coil spring 3 and is brought into contact with a felt as a liquid absorbing elastic body. The release agent stuck to the front end of the peeling claw 2 is absorbed by the felt. |
