PURPOSE:To find the luminance of the face of an object from the angle between the reflecting light vector and eye vector of each patch, by dividing the face of the object into numerous patches and finding the reflecting light vector and eye vector of each patch. CONSTITUTION:The shape, position, position of light source, and other data of an object are inputted and the face of the object is divided into patches, and then, the apex, center of gravity, and face vector of each patch are calcu lated. Then a reflecting light vector indicating the ligth made incident to the center of gravity from the light source and reflected from the center of gravity is found on each patch. Thereafter, the angle A between the reflecting light vector and eye vector is found and luminance is found on each patch from the angle A by using a luminance table, and thus, the density of each patch is indicated.
