PURPOSE:To insert titles as necessary in a video recording mode when the shooting is carried out outdoors by a video camera, etc., by providing a record ing medium reader and a mixing circuit for video signals and Telop characters. CONSTITUTION:An integrated circuit IC card 2 is held between a pair of rolls 4a and 4b. Then these rolls are revolved toward an arrow head when the insertion of the card 2 is detected. Thus the card 2 is fed into a main body 1 and a microcomputer 5 reads the information on the card 2. This information is converted by a character generator 6 into video signals serving as the character information. These signals are mixed with video signals supplied through a camera by a mixing circuit 7. Thus the Telop characters are put into a screen in a video recording mode.
