PURPOSE:To obtain a lance for treating a molten metal having excellent corrosion resistance and exfoliation resistance and a long life even under severe use conditions by forming integrally a structural body having refractories by rubber press to the outside periphery of the top end of a core pipe including a discharge port part. CONSTITUTION:The refractories 8 are integrally provided by the rubber press to the outside periphery of the core pipe 5 which has the discharge port 3 and is provided with studs on the outside periphery. The above-mentioned refractories 8 are formed by applying the oxide body prepd. by adding fibers of flake graphite and SiC, etc., to refractory aggregate of oxide such as Al2O3, adding further a binder such as phenolic resin thereto and kneading the mixture on the outside periphery of the pipe 5 so as to intervene an allowance 7 for expansion thereon, fixing the same into the rubber press mold and molding by pressing. The top end of the core pipe 5 having the integral structure obtd. in the above-mentioned manner is welded to the bottom end of the upper core pipe 1 in a joint part 6 and thereafter the monolithic refractories 4 are formed on the outside periphery of the pipe 1, by which the lance for treating the molten metal is obtd. |
