For interconnecting each column of curtain wall units, a pair of horizontally spaced couplings D are provided between any two vertically adjoining units. Each coupling comprises a male member (40) attached to either the upper or the lower unit and having a tongue(42) projecting vertically, and a female member(30) mounted to the other unit and defining a groove(33). The groove slidably receives the tongue of the male member. Also included is a stringcourse(50) extending along the seam betwen vertically adjoining curtain wall units, on the exterior of the coupling for rainproofing the seam.
