PURPOSE:To produce a disk magnetic head easily and quickly with high accuracy by securing the working allowance of a prescribed size only at a part serving as a counter surface to a medium and forming this part with a step. CONSTITUTION:The working allowance C is secured for a slider original form parts 21 and 22 only at a medium counter surface area respectively. While other areas of both parts 21 and 22 have the same size and form as the final product. Thus the form and the size approximately equal to those of a finished product are obtained just by deleting the area of the allowance C. This shortens greatly the cutting time and this cutting can be performed based on the stepped parts 24 and 25 since the area of the allowance C is stepped. Thus the working is simplified. Furthermore a core original form parts 23 is produced with the area of the allowance C secured previously and cut according to both parts 24 and 25. As a result, the depth of an R/W gap 15 of the parts 23 can be decided with high accuracy.
