Laser coupling for optical waveguide

The optical waveguide (2) is fixed in the capillary (1) via an adhesive. The sleeve is in two parts (5,6) respectively fitted to the waveguide (2) and supporting the coupling lens (7) for the laser light. The first part (5) of the coupling sleeve is itself formed in two parts (10,11) which are screwed together. The first of the parts (10) incorporates bores (3,4) for receiving the adhesive and the other has a blind bore (12) filled with small steel balls (12a) holding the waveguide in alignment with the capillary (1).
