<p>PURPOSE:To improve the contrast to improve the visual recognizability by forming one transparent electrode in stripes and arranging red, green, and blue color filters alternately on this transparent electrode and forming the other transparent electrode into shapes of lit characters. CONSTITUTION:A transparent electrode 11 formed in stripes is arranged on a lower glass substrate 10, and red, green, and blue filters 12R, 12G, and 12B are attached alternately onto this electrode 11. A transparent electrode 14 is formed for pattern display of 7 segments or the like for numbers. Orientation control films 15 are arranged on electrodes 11 and 14, and liquid crystal materials 16 are sealed between them. Polarizing plates 17 and 18 are stuck to outsides of transparent glass substrates 10 and 13. Non-lit segment parts has the same color scheme as the display area other than segment parts. Thus, the contrast is improved to improve the visual recognizability.</p> |
