PURPOSE:To obtain inexpensively dials of various designs in a short period by subjecting the surface of an integrally molded dial to an electrical conducting treatment then forming a metallic layer for ornamentation on the surface, masking partially said layer and subjecting the surface thereof to electrodeposition painting. CONSTITUTION:Plastic or a composite material 2 consisting of an inorg. material and plastic is integrally molded by a casting method using heat, light, etc. The electrically conductive film 4 is coated on the surface of the such integrally molded dial 3 by Ni plating, etc. then the metallic layer 5 for ornamentation such as Rh is formed. The layer is partially masked 6 and after an electrodeposition coated film 7 is formed by using the desired electrodeposition paint, the masking 6 is removed. Such state for partial masking 6-electrodeposition painting 7 is executed by >=1 times to that >=2 color tones are applied to the dial. The inexpensive supply of the dials having a variety of designs is made possible by the above-mentioned method. |
