Ski brake associated with a binding comprising two bent branches 7 extending on either side of a ski 1, 2 and mounted so as to oscillate on a support 9 integral with the top of the ski, each of the said branches carrying a braking spatula (tip) 8 and being connected to the other branch via a manoeuvring member 10 intended to be actuated by the sole of the boot when it is positioned in the binding, in order to give rise to the return of the ski brake, characterised in that at least the part 11 of each branch 7 of the brake intended to ensure braking by engagement in the snow is produced flattened transversely to the direction of braking and thus has considerable bending resistance in the direction of braking and a transverse flexibility which is sufficiently great to prevent any permanent deformation when the skis are manipulated. <IMAGE>
