The building section is used for vertical frame members and horizontal frame members of a curtain wall or a window sash. The section comprises a first hollow portion (40) of large width located in a central portion of a body of the section and extending in a longitudinal direction from the body. A second hollow portion (16) of small width is provided adjacent to one side (13) of the first hollow portion and extends parallel to it. A mounting portion (15) is provided on the other side (12) of the first hollow portion to mount a number of other separate members. The first hollow portion is used as a passage through which air flows, while the second hollow portion is used as a passage through which heat transfer medium flows.
