The support medium, intended to receive a painting, or a relief print, is highly weather resistant. It is constituted by an assembly of layers which interpenetrate: on the surface there is a dried coating 1 made from acrylic, vinyl or vinyl-acrylic resin; a fibrous web 2 in which particles 3 of whiting are dispersed; a rear coating 4 made from polyester resin reinforced with fibres 5 and with a web 6 made from glass cloth. The painting support medium thus formed moreover has a degree of flexibility which enables it to be rolled up for the purpose of transporting it. <IMAGE>
