A method using a sensor for measuring the concentration of substances dissolved in a liquid is described. So that rapid and reliable measurement is possible, especially in the case of high polarity both of the carrier liquid and of the substance to be measured, it is proposed to draw off a portion of the liquid with the dissolved substances to be measured, to establish a stable gas phase above this liquid and to carry out the concentration measurement in the gas phase. Particularly advantageously, a gas dissolved in the carrier liquid is vaporised or the carrier liquid is saturated with a gas or gas mixture and this is vaporised, as a result of which the substances to be measured likewise pass into the gas phase, in accordance with the thermodynamic equilibrium, and can there be detected and measured. The method is particularly suitable for measuring the water concentration in methanol, using a capacitive sensor. <IMAGE> |
