PURPOSE:To provide the laying method of heat pipe capable of following expansion and contraction of a metallic tube by a method wherein a wick member is adhered along a spiral line, a spiral spring is inserted into the heat pipe and both ends thereof are fixed, corrugating work is applied on the heat pipe to form a plurality of circumferential grooves, the heat pipe is laid at a predetermined position, an internal pressure is increased to flatten the corrugated section and operating liquid is filled and sealed in the heat pipe. CONSTITUTION:The spiral spring 4, to which the wick member 3 is adhered along the whole length thereof, is inserted into the metallic tube 1 and both ends thereof are retained at blockading lids 2. The spiral spring 4 is inserted into the metallic tube 1 so as to be contacted closely with the inner wall of the metallic tube 1. the corrugating work, in which many grooves 6 are formed in the circumferential direction with a given pitch, is applied. Next, the metallic tube 1 is laid at a predetermined position and pressure gas is forced into the metallic tube 1 through a pressurizing hole 5 to increase the internal pressure of the metallic tube 1. According to this method, the grooves 6 made by corrugating work are flattened. In this case, the metallic tube 1 is elongated, however, the spiral spring 4 and the wick member 3 follow the elongation and the wick member 3 may be closed to the inner wall of the metallic tube 1 without loosening the wick member 3. The operating liquid is filled into the metallic tube 1 and the pressurizing hole 5 is sealed.
