PURPOSE:To form timing belt pulley having a good dimensional accuracy and a high quality efficiently at small costs by forming the periphery into a rough teethlike surface using a form roller and then forming the periphery into a regular teeth shape by a working such as a reducing working. CONSTITUTION:A form roller forms the periphery of a material into a rough teethlike surface having a roughness smaller than about 50mum by a working speed more than about two times as high as an ordinary working speed as a preprocessing speed. In the next process, the above rough teethlike surface is formed into a regular teeth shape by a reducing work or a strike working on the teeth surface in the rectangular direction to each tooth surface using a cam mechanism. Thus, timing belt pulleys having a good dimensional accuracy concerned with surface roughness and waviness of tooth surfaces are formed in a short period of time. |
