PURPOSE:To attain miniaturization by arranging an antenna conductor in parallel with a grounding face or nearly in parallel therewith, providing a grounding part to one end and providing a spiral part to the open end so as to reduce the total length of the antenna. CONSTITUTION:One end of a flat conductor 1 constituting an antenna conductor forms the grounding part 2, the open end forms a circular spiral part 3 and the entire configuration is arranged in parallel or nearly in parallel with the grounding face 4 at a height b/2. In the shortened transmission line type antenna, it is resonated when the electric length from the start of turn of the spiral part 3 till the grounding part 2 is nearly lambda/4 and the total length L is shorter then lambda/4. As the result of an experiment, the titled antenna acts excellently even when the total length L is a half of a conventional transmission line type antenna, that is, the total length L is nearly lambda/8. Since the open end of the antenna conductor is formed in spiral, the total length is reduced and miniaturization is attained.
