PURPOSE:To obtain the W wire having high processability with making the actual breaking distorsion larger than the specified value by promoting the development of the fiber degree by performing a strong wire drawing after rolling the ingot of sintered W green compact. CONSTITUTION:A W wire is made by wire drawing after rolling the ingot formed by sintering a W green compact. In this case the retreatment is taken <=one time in the rolling stage. The value of the actual breaking distorsion found with the Exp(AO/AP) of the W wire of >=0.2mm diameter is regulated to >=0.4 by performing a strong wire drawing to be performed after rolling and by promoting the development of the fiber degrees. (AO for the wire diameter at test starting time, AP for wire diameter at breaking point in the expression). The W wire having >=0.4 actual breaking value becomes extremely good with >= ten times of the number of bendings until its rupture. The yield in the secondary processing of the W wire is increased and the work having high accuracy is obtained as well because of the W wire of high processability being obtainable as above.
