PURPOSE:To make it possible to manage articles of wound-up film with a high degree of accuracy, by actually measuring the number of stacked layers of a wound-up film from the initiation of wind-up to the termination of wind-up to take out the wind-up film for every predetermined length of wind-up, and by adjusting the wind-up tension or pressure of the film in accordance with the difference between the measured number of stacked layers of the film and a reference number of stacked layers of the film. CONSTITUTION:@?A film 1 is pressed by a nip roll 3 when it is wound up on film roll 2, the amount of air between film layers is regulated in accordance with the pressing condition and the wind-up tension of the film. During the wind-up of the film, a sensor 4 measure the number of stacked layers at the side end surface of the roll 2, which is indicated by a counter 5. If the number of stacked layers is too small in comparison with the wind-up length of the film during the wind-up operation, the wind-up tension of the film, the contact pressure of the film, or the combination of the former two is regulated to adjust the stacked layers to the reference value in relation to the wind-up length. Further, the article in which the film is wound up having a stacked layer number is made as a standard, so that the article in which the stacked layer number is greately shifted out of the limits is distinguished as the one below standard, thereby it is possible to enhance the quality of the articles.
