The invention proposes a sintered-carbide twist drill, the cutting part of which is composed of polycrystalline diamond or the like. In order to prevent the machining of the hard material of the cutting body in the region of the helical flute, the helical course of the flute is ended at the joining base of the polycrystalline cutting part.
