PURPOSE:To permit sure fitting without leakage of engaging section in the circumference of the outlet and inlet ports of a medium by a method wherein a step, surrounding the inlet and outlet ports of medium, is provided around the inlet and outlet ports of medium of each plate and the stepped sections of neighboring plates are engaged with each other. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of plates 11a, 11b of the plate type heat exchanger are laminated to form paths A, B for heat medium between mutual plates while neighboring plates are connected integrally with each others permanently at the circumference 15 of the inlet and outlet ports of medium and the outer peripheral rims 14 thereof. The steps 17a, 17b, extending so as to surround the inlet and outlet ports 12a, 12b of medium, are provided at the circumferences of the ports, 12a, 12b of respective plates, 11a, 11b. The neighboring plates 11a, 11b are arranged by the steps through the outer peripheral rims 14 and the stepped sections and the plate type heat exchanger is provided with higher rigidity. Molten brazing material covers between connecting surfaces and stagnation 18 of brazing material is formed on the upper end, whereby the leakage of the medium may be prevented perfectly. |
