PURPOSE:To supply cooling gas for work and use blast furnace gas for cooling by extracting a part of blast furnace gas which is supplied for work in a turbine casing on one side so as to introduce it as cooling gas into the turbine casing on an idle running side. CONSTITUTION:When blast furnace gas is supplied to a left side turbine casing 2 from a gas line 4 on one side so as to carry out the operation with only one side of turbine working, a part of blast furnace gas supplied for work in the left side turbine casing 2 is extracted from an extraction port 15, and is introduced as cooling gas into the turbine casing 3 on the right side through a bypass line 17 and the end part of a gas line 5. Hereby the gas passage in the inside of the right side gas turbine 3 is cooled by blast furnace gas supplied for work. At this time, gas passage temperature in the inside of the turbine casing 2 or 3 on an idle running side is detected by a temperature detector 21 or 22 and is automatically controlled so as to be within the range of the upper and lower limit temperatures preset on a temperature selector 23 by the opening control of a flow control valve 19 or 20.
