PROCESS FOR THE SIMULTANEOUS PRODUCTION OF ALCOHOL AND PROTEIN-RICH FODDER

In the simultaneous production of alcohol and protein-rich fodder from starch-containing crops it is proposed to divide up the crops into lots after they have been mulched and prepared (1). The first lot is subjected to sweetening (2) and yeast fermentation (11, 13). The yeast is then charged with a sugar solution (9), being subjected to an electrical field. Following this alcohol is separated by distillation (15). The yeast is subject to regeneration (21) and is led back, at least partially, for fresh charging with a sugar solution (26). The remaining yeast (32) and the excess yeast (28) is added to the second lot of mulched crops and this mixture is agglomerated or made into pellets (8).
