In the case of a position signalling device (1), especially a light signalling device, for indicating the switching position of an electrical switch, especially of a high-voltage switch, having an information symbol (2), especially a line which symbolises the current path via the electrical switch, and having in each case one indicating element (3 or 4 respectively) for the "ON" position and for the "OFF" position of the switch, in the case of which the indicating elements (3, 4) are preferably constructed as light elements, the switching position of the electrical switch can be identified immediately and without error, without any special information, if the indicating element (3) for the "ON" position of the electrical switch is arranged in the information symbol (2), especially in the path of the line which symbolises the current path via the electrical switch, and the indicating element (4) for the "OFF" position is arranged close to the information symbol (2), especially close to the line which symbolises the current path via the electrical switch. This results in a geometrical allocation of the indicating elements (3, 4) which intrinsically allows unambiguous identification of the "ON" position and of the "OFF" positions. <IMAGE>
