In a safety-belt restraint device, especially in motor vehicles, with a belt retractor and with a clamping device which causes the blocking of the belt band and is connected to the housing of the belt retractor and which has two clamping jaws, between which the belt band is guided, there is the problem that only the blocking of the belt retractor leads to a response of the clamping device, thus resulting in a belt release from the restraint device which is determined by the reaction time. To prevent this, it is proposed, for the direct actuation of the clamping device (22, 23), to provide a pendulum element (12, 35) connected at least to one movably arranged clamping jaw (22). <IMAGE>
