A hydraulically controllable, leak-free brake stop valve (1) for attaching or fitting in hydraulic working cylinders is described in which the control piston (8) is designed as a stepped piston whose step, designed as annular surface (8.1), interacts with a valve seat in the valve housing (2), in particular in a one-piece bush (12) which can be screwed into the valve housing (2). The brake stop valve (1) according to the invention is distinguished by the fact that the control piston (8), in addition to its function as a controlled non-return valve (31, 32), can perform a restricting function, specifically on account of its design as a seat valve.
