In a turbocharged motor vehicle injection engine an electrically actuatable, normally connected solenoid valve (3) is provided in the air line (2) between the intake pressure pipe and the supercharging pressure-dependent stop of the injection pump of the engine, which valve can be triggered by means of a pulse from an engine speed or speed of travel limit sensor (4) when the limit is exceeded in order to interrupt the air line (2) and to vent the charging pressure-dependent stop. By simple means in certain operating states favourable fuel consumption values can thereby be obtained.
