LIFTING DEVICE

The lifting device is used in workshops, particularly in workshops for repairing motor vehicles wherein mechanics use it when they are working under the bottom side of the vehicle. The device has a moving frame (1) to which are arranged pairs of crossed guiding bars (7, 8) connected to a bearing plate (5) or the like. To said plate is hinged a spring device (13) to which is affected a stop device (17) intended to stop the device at a selected position of the plate (5). The spring device (13) is provided with at least two spring units (14, 15, 16) having a different characteristic with the aim to react with a larger force in the lower part of the motion of the plate (5) and to enable the adjustment on the device for different loads. To this aim, at least two spring units (15, 16) comprised of lockable pneumatic springs having each two chambers and a discharge valve are preferred.
