PURPOSE:To make a sheet material conveyable all the time and proper image quality securable, by making a sheet material separating member higher in its sheet admission direction and installing a specified step difference between the member and a sheet material separating sheet. CONSTITUTION:If a step difference between a holder part of a transfer material separating member and a transfer material separating sheet is set to a range of 0.1 to 0.25mm, such happenings that a sheet material is caught in as the step difference is tool small, or a paper feed roller and the holder part have contacted with each other before the separating sheet comes into contact with the paper feed roller because of too large are quite nothing there. In addition if a paper admission tip end form of the holder part is obliquely cut at 20 deg.-30 deg. from a through paper surface and surface roughness of the paper admission tip end of the holder part is set to a range of 6S-30S, stabilized paper feedability is securable without being affected by a tip end state of the sheet material.
