To prevent car door locks from icing up in wintertime, deicing sprays or plastic plugs etc. have preferably been used hitherto, but these, when needed, have often been left in the locked vehicle and therefore been out of reach. The novel anti-freeze flap eliminates these and other deficiencies, in that the slotted flap provided with adhesive is bonded to the door lock at the beginning of Winter and the other upper flap seals off the door lock simply by being pressed down. When the upper flap, which is connected by means of a hinge neck to the lower flap bonded to the lock, is lifted off, the door-lock slot is exposed, so that the lock can be opened by means of the key. The anti-freeze flap remains fastened to the door lock throughout the Winter and easily prevents car door locks from freezing up when they are stationary or in an icy relative wind. It is impossible for moisture, rain and washing-system water, etc. to penetrate into the cylinder of a car door lock and freeze up by the effect of cold. |
