PURPOSE:To enable overlap recording in two or more colors to be performed by a simple mechanism, by a construction wherein two pinch rollers are disposed in the longitudinal direction of a platen roller and oppositely to a recording head, with a sufficient spacing between the two pinch rollers. CONSTITUTION:The pinch rollers 5, 6 are pressed against the platen roller 1, and are so disposed that an angle theta is not less than 180 deg., whereby a recording paper 2 is wound around the roller 1 over not less than 180 deg.. When all data for one color are transferred onto one recording area, the pressing of a thermal head 4 against the roller 1 is released, and under a frictional force generated between the paper 2 and the roller 1 by the pressing of the rollers 5, 6 against the roller 1 and a frictional force according to the circumferential length of the roller 1 in contact with the paper 2, the paper 2 is returned to its original position by rotating the roller 1 reversely, while an ink film 3 is so moved as to set the color for next overlap recording into position. Since control of registration of three colors is conducted by only the number of pulses supplied to a stepping motor for driving the roller 1, a controlling part is extremely simplified. |
