PURPOSE:To rationalize a printing process and contrive higher printing speed, by a method wherein an initial stand-by position of a two-color forming thermal recording paper is set at a position spaced forward from a thermal head by an amount corresponding to one printing region. CONSTITUTION:A leading end part C of a thermal recording paper 14 is fed to the position of arrow P1 spaced forward from the position of arrow P2 by an amount corresponding to one printing region, and the new position is made to be the initial stand-by position. A platen 12 is rotated counterclockwise, printing in the first color is conducted, and the printed part is fixed by exposure by a lamp 13. When the leading end part C is fed to the position P2, the paper 14 is stopped. When the paper 14 is heated, a blue color body and a red color body are synthesized to obtain a black color, so that the image 17-1 printed in the first color is of black color. The platen 12 is rotated clockwise, printing in the second color is conducted, and driving of the thermal head is stopped when the part C of the paper 14 reaches the position P1. In the second color printing, only a red color body is developed, so that the image 17-2 printed in the second color is red in color. The paper 14 is fed forward, and when a trailing end part D for the one printing region comes to the position P1, the paper is stopped, and the rear part D is cut. |
