PURPOSE:To attain the miniaturization and enhancement of reliability of a slant face type thermal head by a method in which plural heating resistors are formed at given intervals on the angular slope of one end of a flat plate type insulating base plate, and the separate electrode lead of one end of the heating resistors is led to the other face leading to the slope. CONSTITUTION:An IC 8 for driving is attached to the main flat face 1a of an insulting base plate 1, and one end of the base plate 1 is cut into a slant face 1b. Plural heating resistors 4 are provided at given intervals on the slant face 1b, and a common electrode 6 is provided on the tip of the face 1b. Separate electrode leads 5 are provided over the main flat face 1a adjacent to the face 1b from one end of each heating resistor 4. Since IC 8 for driving is attached to the main flat face 1a different from the slant face 1b having the resistors 4 of the head 11, the running path of a recording paper 12 becomes of straight line and the device is made compact. Also, since the printing pressures of the head 11 are greater, the close contact of the paper 12 with the head 11 can be well improved and the reliability of the head can be raised. |
