PURPOSE:To decrease remarkably the capacity of an erasable ROM by extending one word which is read out of the erasable ROM, to several words by a firmware/data copy device, and storing them in a controlling/storing circuit. CONSTITUTION:A firmware/data copy device 7 reads out one word from an address (n) of an erasable ROM 1, and writes it in an address (m) of a controlling/ctoring circuit 3. In this case, when a firmware copy instruction which is read out of an address (n+2) of the ROM 1 is decoded by the device 7, the address of the ROM 1 is set to l, the contents of l are written in an address (m+2) of the circuit 3, and a copy word counter of the inside is set to (P-1). Thereafter, counting is executed until becoming P=0, and when the contents of an address l+P of the ROM 1 are written in an address (m+1+P) of the circuit 3, the address of the ROM 1 is returned to its original (n+2+1), and its contents are written in (m+1+P+1). In this way, the contents of the ROM 1 can be extended and written. |
