PURPOSE:To improve durability of a diaphragm for an air spring employable such as in a vehicle suspension by embedding at least an outside located reinforcing member without overlapping in the longitudinal direction of the cylindrical member. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical member 8 serving as a diaphragm for an air spring employable such as in a vehicle suspension is made of a rubber material. The cylindrical member 8 has two outside and inside reinforcing strip members 9a, 9b embedded spirally in layers. These reinforcing members 9a, 9b extend symmetrically with respect to the axis X-X of the cylindrical member 8, and at least the outside reinforcing member 9b is spirally arranged without overlapping in the widthwise direction. Then, a rubber layer 8a is cured and adhered on the outer surface of the two reinforcing members 9a, 9b to complete the cylindrical member 8.
