PURPOSE:To eliminate an off-track by a change of temperature irrespective of a position of a head by composing a member constituting a capstan of a material having a predetermined coefficient of thermal expansion with respect to the coefficient of thermal expansion of component members of a recording medium and a steel belt wound on the capstan. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 1 is attached to an end of a load arm 2 of a flexible spring member, and a carriage arm 3 is constituted by a head arm 12 and a flexible arm 13. The carriage 3 is rotatably supported by a pivot shaft 4. A steel belt 5 is wound on an outer peripheral section of a capstan 7 fixed to the end of a shaft of a step motor 6 and respective ends are fixed to an end side of the arm 13 and an end of a spring plate 8. By constituting a member comprising the capstan 7 by a material having a larger coefficient of thermal expansion than that of the material of the steel belt 5 and a smaller coefficient of thermal expansion than that of the material of a recording medium, an off-track by a change of temperature is eliminated irrespective of a position of the head 1.
