PURPOSE:To provide the titled curing agent of high performance in compatibility with epoxy resin, activity and high-temperature curability, free from impairing the electrical insulation properties of the resulting cured resin, comprising, as an active ingredient, at least one specific quaternary ammonium benzosulfimidate. CONSTITUTION:The objective curing agent comprising, as an active ingredient, at least one kind of compound selected from group made up of (A) compounds of formula I (R1-R4 are each alkyl or benzyl) (e.g., trimethyloctyl ammonium benzosulfimidate) (B) second compounds of formula II (R5 and R6 are each alkyl or benzyl; R7 is H, alkyl or phenyl; R8 is H or CH3) (e.g., 1-dodecyl-2- methyl-3-benzylimidazolium benzosulfimidate) and (C) third compounds of formula III (R9 is H or CH3; R10 is alkyl or benzyl) (e.g., benzylpyridinium benzosulfimidate). For the epoxy resins to be applied, those from bisphenol A are preferable.
